The possibility of extending rail service to Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Georgetown from the Red Line commuter rail route is currently being considered and has recently been the subject of a study using fatal flaw analysis methodology. This has been reported in an article entitled “Study outlines challenges in planning commuter rail” by Rob Heidrick in the May issue of the Community Impact Newspaper Round Rock|Pflugerville.
Further news about the possibility that rail transit will be brought to Pflugerville will be followed in this blog. Other news about rail transit in the Austin area will be followed as well.
Whether to expand rail transit service within urban areas is a controversial issue. References to books and articles with content about this issue will also be included here.
